Post-construction saga: Closer, ever closer

This is the last tease. The very last. Well, except maybe for one of landscaping in progress...but I'll try my best to refrain. I know I'm a hopeless perfectionist, but I'm not going to have "big picture" photos taken till everything is just the way I want it.

And, trust me, that will be very soon. The countertops are in, plumbing is hooked up, and the cedar porch overhang has been built. All that's left to do is some digging, some planting and some mulching.

Cedar porch overhang just begging for hanging plants

In spite of a recent cold snap, the trees are turning green.

Hardware is on, appliances are in and countertop is installed.
Faucets are hooked up, in the kitchen...

...and in the bathroom

I'll end with a completely gratuitous shot of Grandson #2, my curlytop.

  1. Everything is looking wonderful and your wee grandson is SO adorable!

I'm trying to get a photo or two of the piece I told you about but unfortunately I'm tremouring just enough to make every picture blurry.

    1. Things are definitely coming right along, and I'm really happy that I'm about to get completely settled in. You never know how much you appreciate a proper place to brush your teeth till you have to get water out of the ice maker and spit in the toilet. :)

Grandson #2 is truly as angelic as he looks in that photo. I'm a lucky Grammo...or Mammo, as he insists on calling me.

I hate to hear that you're having problems with tremors. As generous as you're being, I can wait as long as necessary. Take your time and do things as they're convenient for you.

    1. Nick, my other laptop crashed, and that's where I had that information. Luckily, I had it backed up on Mozy, so I'm doing a 9-hour restore. As soon as I can get to that file, I'll let you know where I got the light fixture.

    1. Thank you, Ton. I may be slightly biased, but I think he's as sweet as he is cute. He has the most loving disposition of any child I've ever known...and always says "please" and "thank you" without being prompted, which is pretty amazing for a little fellow who just turned two at the end of December.

    1. Thank goodness, it's almost finished! I'll landscape Monday and Tuesday of next week, and then I'll be done. Real photos will follow soon, I promise!

Grandson #2 is a little ham. While I was taking pictures for this post, he asked me to take his picture too. :)

    1. Yes, we call them porch lights too. My computer crashed, and I couldn't remember where the lights came from when nickarmadillo asked...and then I realized that they're on one of my Pinterest boards.

    1. I'm just ready to get it done. As you very well know from your own experience, it gets old quick living in a "partially finished" state.

    1. I really think I'll be able to post the final photos sometime next week, if I can get a photographer out here. I know I've been an awful tease...but it has more to do with my perfectionism than a desire to string you along. :)

Yes, he's a happy, sweet little boy, and I adore him. I'm very, very lucky.

  11. Hey I do gratuitous cat shots. You should be allowed. He is gonna hate that hair but I LOVE IT! Lucky. Your kitchen hardware is NICE. Black. Love it. Also, the patio light is very nice. Ours have kind of deteriorated so am on the lookout again. Did you put the name up? Never mind, I shall find it.
